The 2014 Chevy Malibu has been redesigned just one year after this generation went on sale. The updated model will get a bump in fuel economy in addition to visual and interior updates. The 2014 Malibu will get up to 36-mpg in base trim and start at $22,140.
The base 2014 Chevy Malibu will now almost match the 2013 Malibu Eco for fuel economy, with 25-mpg city and 36-mpg highway. The Malibu’s base 2.5-liter will now have start/ stop technology intake valve lift control and a new transmission to account for the three-mpg city, two-mpg highway bump from last year’s model. The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine will get a significant bump in torque up to 295 lb-ft.
On the exterior, the Chevrolet Malibu will get a more attractive front end with a larger lower grill and a smaller upper grill. Inside, the 2014 Chevy Malibu will have 1.25 inches more knee room in the back than the 2013 model thanks to a smaller seat.
