The Game Rides Dangerously in a Polaris Slingshot
By Ross EdwardsWednesday, Jan 21 2015 05:00
The Game spent his weekend tearing around LA on a Polaris Slingshot tricycle-car. The Polaris Slingshot is technically a motorcycle, even though it’s obviously a car, and that technical distinction means it can be registered as a motorcycle and doesn’t need to pass safety regulations for cars.
The Slingshot is one of the few cars more exciting than The Game’s Ferrari 458 Italia. It might only have a 2.4-liter 175-horsepower engine (compared to the 458 Italia’s 562-horsepower 4.5-liter V8), but with only 1,725-lbs scooting around a couple inches from the ground, it has to be fun.
The Polaris Slingshot has some safety issues, and Polaris has sent a letter out to dealers and customers asking them to park their trikes until an issue with the steering and a weakness in the roll bars can be fixed.
