Lexus began as the luxury division of Toyota in 1989. Lexus has a reputation for building high-quality, reliable cars that hold their value extremely well. There are nine different luxury models sold by Lexus, which range from the entry-level luxury IS and ES to the top-of-the-line LS and LX. Lexus also has four different luxury hybrid models.

The Lexus lineup includes the ES, IS, HS, GS and LS sedans, the GX, RX and LX SUVs and the CT hatchback. Lexus sells four hybrid models. The CT and HS are only available as hybrids, and Lexus also sells gas-electric versions of the RX and LS. Lexus competes with Acura, Infiniti, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW.
