Jeep Patriot
The Jeep Patriot is a small SUV from Jeep designed to offer the off-road ability Jeeps are known for with on-road manners. Smaller than the Liberty, the Patriot is styled like Jeep's Cherokee SUV that was discontinued in 2001. The Patriot is available with two different 4wd systems, the Freedom Drive 1 is designed for on-road performance while the Freedom Drive 2 is off-road oriented. The Jeep Patriot's rear dome light can be removed and used as a flashlight.
The Jeep Patriot has been on sale since 2007. A Patriot with Freedom Drive 2 has the most off-road capabilities in its class, and is a great choice for anyone who wants the car-like handling of a crossover SUV but needs the capabilities of a real off-road truck.
The Jeep Patriot is available in Sport 4x4, Sport 4x4 E and Limited 4x4 trims. The base model Sport 4x4 doesn't include amenities like power windows, cruise control and remote entry, so opt for the E if those are important to you. All trim levels have a 172 hp four cylinder engine and five-speed automatic standard. On Jeep Patriots with Freedom Drive 2, a CVT transmission replaced the 5-speed.
