New Hyundai Cars and SUV's

Economical, dependable, and reliable. I bet you never imagined that Hyundai would be associated with those three adjectives. We were introduced to Hyundai in 1986 and 22 years later Hyundai produces 10 models with a flavor for everyone but the pickup truck buyer.

The compact Hyundai Accent gets 30 miles per gallon and costs between 10 and 15 grand. The Hyundai Sonata, Elantra, and the new model the Hyundai Azera comprise the sedan division all under $25,000. The Hyundai Tuscon, Santa Fe and Veracruz represent the SUV and Crossover line ranging from $19,000 to $35,000. And for the sports coupe guy or gal you have the Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Overall Hyundai has a car for almost everyone.

Hyundai Genesis

The Hyundai Genesis marks a new beginning for the Korean automaker. Hyundai says more luxurious and sporty cars are in the works, so look for the brand to transform in the next few years. The Genesis was built specifically to be comparable to the BMW 5 series, and the V8 model actually uses the same automatic transmission found in the Beemer.

The Hyundai Genesis has all the features of high end luxury sedan except for the name. Hyundai is hoping to convince buyers to take a chance by offering all the amenities found in Japanese and German luxury cars for a much lower price. This same strategy has worked for Hyundai in the non-luxury market.

Hyundai's Genesis comes with either a 3.8 liter V6 with 290 hp or a 4.6 liter V8 with 376 hp. The V8 Genesis does 0-60 in just 5.5 seconds. V8 models have chrome body trim, a wood trimmed steering wheel and 18 inch wheels. Hyundai cars have a good reputation for reliability but still have lower resale value than Japanese competitors.
