BMW 128
The BMW 1 series is the smallest least expensive BMW available in the United States. Available in either coupe or convertible form, the BMW 1 Series has replaced the 3 Series as BMW's compact car offering. The 1 Series is only available with two doors.
Two different engines are available in the BMW 1 Series. The 128i has a 3.0 liter inline-6 with 230-hp, which is plenty for the little car to get around with. Speed Demons who can't afford an M3 will want the 335i. Its turbocharged engine makes 300 hp and rockets the car to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds.
The BMW 1 series was introduced in 2008 to fill the gap left in BMW's arsenal when the 3 Series grew into a midsized car. Most of the complaints lodged against the BMW 1 Series revolve around its small size, which limits its interior volume.
