The Saab brand of cars will be discontinued. GM, which owns Saab, had planned to sell the Swedish brand of luxury cars as part of its post-bankruptcy reorganization. When a deal with a group led by Swedish supercar company Koenigsegg fell through, GM looked for another buyer but was unable to find one. Cash for Clunkers worked out pretty well. It gave a much needed bump to new car sales and got some gas guzzlers off the road in the process. It's also proving to be a boon for auto recyclers, who strip the traded in clunkers of any parts that can be resold, then crush them and sell the metal. That boon is turning out to be a lot of stress for the recyclers though, according to MSNBC.

Ford has unveiled its first ever in-house designed Powerstroke diesel engine, which will be available in the 2011 Ford F250 and F350 Superduty pickups, as well as Ford's larger trucks.
