Having an auto loan or auto lease payment for less than $200 a month is a really good deal in this day and age. The average monthly car loan payment for a new vehicle in the fourth quarter of 2009 was $467, and for used vehicles it was $340, according to Experian Automotive.
To get a lower monthly payment, some car shoppers turn to leasing, where you essentially rent the car for a few years. It allows you to have lower payments because you only pay on a portion of what the vehicle will be worth at the end of the lease. So, what will $200 or less a month get you?
