The 35-MPG 2013 Mazda CX-5 starts at $20,695

The 2013 Mazda CX-5 will start at $20,695 when it goes on sale.  The Mazda CX-5 will be powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that gets 35-mpg on the highway, making it the first SUV to cross that barrier.  All-wheel drive models will start at $23,345.

The 2013 Mazda CX-5 will use a 155-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 150 lb-ft of torque.  A six-speed manual transmission, a novelty in the SUV segment that should entice some sportier-leaning suburbanites, is available on front-wheel drive models.  All-wheel drive models are automatic only.

A touring model with fog lamps, a backup camera, blind spot monitoring system, Bluetooth and cruise control starts at $23,895 with front wheel drive or $25,145 with all-wheel drive.

The 2013 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring adds a navigation system, bi-xenon headlights and an advanced keyless entry system that unlocks the car when it senses the key is nearby.  The Grand Touring CX-5 starts at 27,045 with front-wheel drive or 28,295 with all-wheel drive.
